How it works for parents

From first search to first session — here's what to expect.

01

Tell us about your teenager

During registration, you'll share a little about your teenager — their age, the areas they're struggling with, and what kind of support you're looking for. This takes about 5 minutes.

02

We assign your counsellor

Based on your intake responses, we assign a verified counsellor whose expertise, approach, and availability is the right fit for your teenager. No browsing required.

03

Book a session time

Pick a date and time that works for you from your counsellor's availability. Payment is processed securely by Razorpay. You'll receive an email confirmation with all the details.

04

Attend the first session

For online sessions, you'll receive a secure video link before the appointment. We recommend your teenager attends independently, but you're welcome to join the first few minutes if they prefer.

What we check before a counsellor joins

Every counsellor on Bloomfy goes through a thorough verification process.

Relevant professional qualification (degree or diploma in psychology, counselling, or related field)

Registration with a recognised professional body (RCI, IACP, etc.) where applicable

Verified experience working with adolescents

Background checks and reference verification

Agreement to Bloomfy's safeguarding and professional conduct policies

Ongoing professional indemnity insurance

Parent FAQs

Does my teenager need to know I'm booking?

Yes — involving your teenager in the decision is important for the counselling to be effective. Booking without their knowledge may undermine their trust.

Can I attend sessions?

Most counsellors prefer one-to-one sessions with teenagers to help build trust and a safe space. Some may involve you in the first session or for occasional reviews. You can discuss this directly with the counsellor.

Will the counsellor tell me what is discussed?

Counselling sessions are confidential. The counsellor will not routinely share session content with you. However, they are obligated to break confidentiality if there is a serious risk to your teenager's safety.

What if my teenager doesn't connect with the counsellor?

The relationship between a teenager and their counsellor is important. If it isn't working after a couple of sessions, let us know and we will reassign a more suitable counsellor for your teenager.
